Femme Fatale Lucent Ametrine

Happy long weekend Saturday, everyone!

I'm pretty excited to share this polish with you guys today - Femme Fatale's Lucent Ametrine.  I am a HUGE fan of Femme Fatale's nail polishes.  Their polishes are always have such lovely and unexpected combinations of colors and glitters that really make them interesting.  Lucent Ametrine is no exception.

Lucent Ametrine features an assortment of small and large lilac and dark purple hex and square glitter (some of these are holographic glitters, too) as well as light yellow and magenta hex glitters and teeny tiny magenta and dark blue hex glitters in a clear base.  This polish is very complex.

I decided to layer Lucent Ametrine over one of OPI's more recent releases from the 2013 Euro Centrale spring collection - Vant to Bite My Neck, which is a lovely eggplant colored creme polish.  I really enjoyed this combo.  Lucent Ametrine went on quite smoothly for such a dense glitter and packed a big punch in just one coat.  It is definitely not a sparse glitter, that's for sure!  Vant to Bite My Neck also had a nice formula and was opaque for me in two coats.  Folks with more careful application than me could probably get away with one coat of Vant to Bite My Neck.

On to the pics!

And if you're curious, here's OPI Vant to Bite My Neck by itself (indirect daylight, no flash):

Femme Fatale polishes can be purchased within Australia (no international shipping for polishes) directly from Femme Fatale here.  Within North America, you can purchase Femme Fatale polishes at Harlow & Co. and Llarowe.

Thanks for popping by and have a great weekend!

Pretty Serious Daphne's Birthday Party

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Today I have a very special polish to share with you...Pretty Serious Daphne's Birthday Party (DBP).  This polish was created by the lovely Kaz of Pretty Random and Pretty Serious fame!  DBP was created in commemoration of Pretty Serious' first birthday.  "Daphne" is the cartoon character/Pretty Serious mascot you see on the boxes that the Pretty Serious polishes come in, among many other things.  I love Daphne's design...she is adorable!

Anyway, Kaz has invited everyone who has purchased a bottle of DBP to join Pretty Serious in a global celebration of sorts by posting their very own swatches of DBP on their blog/twitter/facebook/instagram/tumblr/pretty much any and all social media outlet you can think of.  I think this is pretty neat/fun idea, so I am def in! ;)

DBP is a cool polish!  It is a multi-colored glitter bomb of awesomeness!  DPB mostly features red, yellow, blue, green and pink (I'm probably forgetting a few here) small hex glitters in a clear base.  This polish is much more dense than I was expecting.  You could definitely achieve full opacity in 3 coats if you wanted to.  Formula was good, it wasn't too thick or thin and you definitely got a lot of bang for your buck with each brushstroke as many glitters were dispensed at once.

On to the pic!  Here's two coats of DBP over two coats of American Apparel Hassid:

Fun, right????

You can pick up your very own bottle of DBP at Pretty Serious' website (and they ship worldwide, woot!) or at Llarowe.

Hope you guys have enjoyed this post...this polish is definitely a birthday party in a bottle and I love it!  And a big happy first birthday to Pretty Serious!  I can't wait to see what Pretty Serious releases in the coming year!

Essie Come Here!

Happy Saturday afternoon everyone!

I think it has FINALLY stopped snowing here for this year (hopefully, though stranger things have happened before).  I don't know if it's the nicer weather or what, but I've been really feeling bright polish colors lately.  So on that note, I have Essie Come Here to share with you today.

Come Here is a lovely coral-red creme from Essie's Resort 2013 collection.  It is such a fun, happy color!  I loved wearing this mani.  The formula on Come Here was ok.  It didn't apply itself, but it wasn't awful.  It's one of those polishes that's sort of self-levelling.  So even if it looks kind of iffy when you first put a coat of it on, after a few minutes, it fills out and looks fine.  THANK GOODNESS, because I was worried there for a bit upon initial application.

The color  of Come Here was fairly difficult for me to capture properly on my camera but the picture I'm using today seems fairly accurate to me. *shrugs*

Here's Come Here (3 coats, but def could have gotten away with 2) in natural indirect day light:

I know this isn't the greatest mani pic I've ever taken but it was the best out of the bazillion pics I took of this polish lol.  But look at how bright this polish is!! YOWZA!

So are any of you folks in to brights lately?  Any faves?  This polish has sort of been the catalyst to make me lemm ALL THE NEONS, so yeah...this is a gateway polish, people!

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely weekend! ^_^
